who is jesus of the word ‘mystic’ and mysticism. The first definitions are from Collins English Dictionary and the second set of definitions are from The Concise Oxford Dictionary: “mystic: to a mystery; to secret religious rites; symbolical of spiritual truth; strange; – n one who believes in mysticism; one who seeks to have direct contact with the divine by way of spiritual ecstasy and contemplation. Mysticism the doctrine of the mystics who seek direct communion with God; study of the spiritual experience; obscurity of doctrine hence mystification. Mystic: 1. Spiritually allegorical; occult; esoteric; of hidden meaning; mysterious; mysterious and awe-inspiring. 2. One who seeks by contemplation and self-surrender to obtain union with or absorption into the deity, or who believes in spiritual apprehension of truths beyond the understanding, hence mysticism n.”
Now before I start I would like to suggest to you a study of my recent article here at Ezines entitled: “What is THE MYSTERY of Mystery Babylon The Great?” in order to gain a new sense of what THE MYSTERY is. Mysticism, whether Christian or otherwise, is other things as well, but the above article will give you new understanding with regards to the origins of everything mysterious, ministerial, and mystical.
OK, back to those dictionary definitions and, straight away, we can see that there appears to be a contradiction in these definitions or there are two meanings to the same word. What are they? First we have a link to the occult and the esoteric which, as we know, is the work of the Devil. Then we have “symbolical of spiritual truth,” not Spiritual Truth proper, but only spiritual symbolism. However, when we look more closely there actually aren’t two meanings and there is no contradiction at all. In order to prove what I am saying, is true, we need to be able to identify the give away signs in these two definitions that reveal mystics for what they are and, reveal mysticism for what it is – the works of The Devil.
Now that’s a pretty generalised condemnatory statement is it not? Oh yes, and I can almost hear so called mystics, and those of the ‘consciousness movement’, howling in disbelief at my statement and well they might, but that doesn’t alter the fact that what I am saying is The Truth. How can I be so sure? Easy, all that’s involved is just one word that gives them all away; the word ‘seek’ or one who ‘seeks’ direct communion with a god.
This is typical esoterical, consciousness based, New Age nonsense and/or in its Cainite-Judeo-Christian Religious form – monasticism or monastic Catholic/Orthodox quasi-Christian mumbo jumbo. This is them putting their foot in it without even realising what they are saying and doing. It’s just another example of the ‘tail wagging the dog’ scenario in their self initiated or self induced spiritual relationship with a god that they think is God. Baptism (full immersion) into Yashua Anointed’s (The Lord Jesus Christ’s) name alone and the gift of The Holy Spirit doesn’t come into it.
Here is a question: If, when we are born of God (Born Again) and The Holy Spirit makes a permanent home with us, why do we then have to go ‘seeking’ God in order to be in communion or communication with Him. Why do we have to sit in contemplation (whatever that means) for hours on end in order to communicate with God. Here is what Yashua Anointed (The Lord Jesus Christ) said on this matter:
John 14:18 I will not leave you comfortless: I will come to you. 19 Yet a little while, and the world seeth me no more; but ye see me: because I live, ye shall live also. 20 At that day ye shall know that I am in my Father, and ye in me, and I in you.
There it is in black and white, Yashua Anointed (The Lord Jesus Christ) is in us through His Holy Spirit, and He also states categorically that He will come to us, not the other way round or us seeking Him. Now, if this is the case, and we know that it is because Yashua Anointed said so Himself, why do these mystics feel the need to seek God and which god are they seeking in ignorance? When they say and do these things.
